Every year, our festival draws tens of thousands of visitors. Guests travel from all over to witness our world-famous giant vegetable weigh-offs, explore our massive classic car show, and enjoy hundreds of diverse vendors and attractions. As our Coordinator, you will be the driving force that brings these exciting elements together.
What You Will Do
As the Pumpkinfest Coordinator, you report to and take direction from the Pumpkinfest Board of Directors as you manage a wide variety of tasks to ensure the event runs smoothly. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Festival Administration: You will oversee operations, prepare budgets, manage grant applications, and liaise with town officials, police, and fire departments.
- Attractions & Vendors: You will research and book thrilling new attractions, manage vendor logistics, and coordinate our lively car show and weigh-off events.
- Sponsorship & Marketing: You will secure key sponsorships, design marketing campaigns, write press releases, and act as our primary media contact.
- Site Management: You will map out the festival grounds, organize rental contracts, and work with local services to prepare the site for thousands of guests.
- Grower Relations: You will maintain close communication with the Giant Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC) and support the incredible growers who bring our festival to life.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for an organized, self-motivated leader to guide our event to success. Our ideal candidate possesses:
- Proven experience in event coordination, ideally with large community festivals.
- Strong financial skills for managing budgets and securing grants.
- A background in marketing, media relations, and sponsorship acquisition.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a volunteer board, municipal staff, and the public.
- A flexible schedule, as evening meetings and weekend work will be necessary during our busiest planning phases.
