Weigh-off Prize Structure and Rules
Whether you're an amateur grower or a skilled professional, our prize structure has something for everyone! This year we have introduced many new awards to our popular prize program - here's a breakdown for each day:
Saturday Great Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC) Event:
As well as levelling the pumpkin prize money to award growers all the way down to 15th place, we will continue our two new awards in the form of the GVGO's Featured Vegetable, and "Master Grower". This prize will be awarded to the Overall Saturday grower who has eligible entries in at least 5 of the 7 Class 1 Vegetable Categories. See below for downloaded versions of Saturday's Prize Structure, Rules and an Explanation of the scoring for the Master Grower award.
Sunday Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Event ll :
With a new focus on making it fun for the whole family, we have added more pumpkin pay-offs to the structure! Have the kids grow a sunflower to compete in the largest sunflower face category or better yet, get them to try their hand at growing a giant pumpkin! We have expanded our prize money to pay out all the way down to 15th place for pumpkins.. We have also expanded our local "Fred Wuerth Memorial Tri-County Growers' Award" to reward first, second and third place from the Bruce/Grey/Huron region.
Best of all, why not plan on attending both days and entering a vegetable each day!
